” Artists and their collaborators have played a vital role from the beginning of the pandemic: their creations offer hope, help maintain connections, and point to a brighter future.

As we move forward, we need the arts more than ever—to inspire us and bring us together as we envision a better world for all. Strong support for a resilient, inclusive, and accessible arts sector benefits society in all its diversity.

The Canada Council for the Arts is a proud supporter of the Quartiers Danses Festival and its contributions to our shared work to bring the arts to life. “

” Every year for the past 20 years, people young and old have been filled with wonder upon seeing performances by the artists of the Festival Quartiers Danses. Across Montréal, audiences, choreographers, and dancers gather at sites that are both unique and traditional to move in this celebration of contemporary dance in all its forms. The Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec is delighted to support events like the Festival Quartiers Danses, which contribute to the vitality of their discipline and their territory of activity.

Happy anniversary to the festival! I wish the team and audiences 20 more years of wonderful discoveries.”

” Finally, the time has come for the 20th Festival Quartiers Danses. I invite Montrealers to discover a rich and avant-garde contemporary dance program.

This festival enriches Montréal’s cultural offering. The talent of dance creators from both here and around the world will shine in many venues, but also in off-site locations. In the wake of the pandemic, what a joy it is to reconnect with the living arts in our venues and public spaces, places that are loved by the public!

The city of Montréal shares with the Festival Quartiers Danses the desire to make culture more accessible to all.

For 20 years, we have been proud to enjoy this festival, which highlights our greatest choreographers and dancers. It is an opportunity for the population to enjoy important and high quality works.

I would like to congratulate the organizers and the artists for their work and their passion! Your art allows Montréal to position itself as a major pillar of dance and the performing arts. “

“With each and every new iteration, Festival Quartiers Danses (FQD) manages to successfully showcase how vibrant dance really is, while building bridges between all involved. Inclusive of all trends and generations, it nurtures special relationships between artists and their work, and the people of Montréal.

A true incubator for talent, the FQD provides new artists with a much-needed platform to present their creations in the city’s various boroughs, in theaters or unexpected urban settings. Conseil des arts de Montréal applauds their approach, as our teams continually strive to amplify new voices.

Kudos to the entire team for this 20th Edition, and let us savour every breathtaking moment! “
