Festival Quartiers Danses (FQD), thanks to a close collaboration with the Sud-Ouest Borough, presents for a third year its summer project of public rehearsals/performances. This year, from June 5 to September 6, 2024, 14 groups of professional choreographers and performers from the 22nd edition of FQD will work on their creations in Parc Gédéon-de-Catalogne with you all day long, Monday to Friday.

From 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., you are invited to see the artists in the midst of creating their choreographic works!

Want to see the final result? See you from September 5 to 14, 2024 in different neighborhoods of Montreal as part of the 22nd edition of FQD.

The objectives of this creation project : animating the neighbourhood, enriching the programming of cultural venues in the Sud-Ouest Borough and integrating the FQD’s actions into the borough’s socio-community, educational and health sectors.

Joining the community

The creation labs in Gedeon-de-Catalogne park will be an opportunity to create new links with the citizens, tourits and bystanders of the Sud-Ouest borough:

Cultural mediation workshops with the neighborhood day camps

All artists benefiting from the creation space will be invited to offer a cultural mediation workshop and a performance for the neighborhood day camps in the Gedeon-de-Catalogne park. The artists will collaborate with the FQD’s cultural mediation team to create unique and playful activities that will introduce children to their artistic process. The artists will then perform an excerpt from their piece for the children’s groups.

We take advantage of this opportunity to develop a taste for dance from an early age. This residency program contributes to the development of new audiences for dance: the very young! ” Rafik Hubert Sabbagh, Executive and Artistic Director at Festival Quartiers Danses.
