From 5 to 14 September 2024, the Festival Quartiers Danses (FQD) presented its 22nd edition indoors (Place des Arts, McCord Stewart Museum, NFB) and in urban settings, mainly in the Quartier des Spectacles, Old Montreal, the Kondiaronk belvedere, and the Saint-Henri and Ville-Marie East neighbourhoods.
The indoor programme drew 2,064 spectators, including 256 on the opening night in the Cinquième Salle at Place des Arts. Outdoors, more than 6,200 people attended the nine days of performances in various emblematic venues across the city.
Featuring 33 choreographers and companies from 15 countries, this edition explored contemporary issues such as ageing, masculine identities, the absurd, the digital, social dynamics and eco-responsibility.
