20 years of performances in theatres and in the open air in an urban context, of film and short film screenings, of round tables on current dance topics and of cultural mediation workshops. For 20 years, the mission of the Festival Quartiers Danses (FQD) has been to democratize contemporary dance creation in all its forms and hybridities, by making it more accessible to all audiences in both traditional and unusual venues!
For its 20th edition, from September 7 to 18, 2022, FQD found its public, with a total of 12,900 festival-goers in theatres and in urban settings! In theatres, 12 Montreal choreographers and companies, as well as 4 international choreographers and companies, for a total of 19 shows in Théâtre Maisonneuve at Place des Arts, Bourgie Hall at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens’ Studio Théâtre.
