The 16th Festival Quartiers Danses, which runs until September 15 with 10 indoor and 20 outdoor shows in 7 neighborhoods of the city, contributes again this year to the artistic influence of Montreal as a city of dance internationally.
Festival Quartiers Danses has always been an event that opens doors to discoveries and differences. This is what actor and dancer Marc Béland, who is the spokesperson for the seventh year, means by “cultural mediation”.
Of the 36 choreographers present this year, 29 are from Quebec. This festival is also an opportunity to hold round tables on the evolving issues of dance, as well as the screening of 31 short films by as many video artists, and a photo exhibition, at the crossroads of the ever-changing world of dance.
