The festival took Montreal by storm and introduced it to the bold and boundless world of contemporary dance.
FQD presented 71 performances and shows, a roundtable discussion, 2 screenings of short films on dance and 2 photographic exhibitions in 14 new venues in 6 neighbourhoods – Festival Quartiers Danses showcased the work of 25 local choreographers, 8 foreign choreographers, 13 directors and a photographer.
This year, the FQD transformed the Maison Théâtre and the Cinquième Salle at Place des Arts into its headquarters. 25 works were presented in theatres during 14 performances, as well as 14 works in urban settings during 46 performances. In addition, the FQD presented 2 community projects at the heart of its programming, and a round table opened a dialogue on the place of emerging artists within the artistic milieu.
