Choreographer and performer
As a graduate of École supérieure de ballet du Québec, Véronique Giassion has danced for numerous companies including Cas Public, Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal, the National Theatre of Saarland (Germany), the Compagnie Marie Chouinard, Compañia Tania Perez-Salas (Mexico), Ezdanza, Andrea Peña & Artists, the Cirque du Soleil and the Ballet Preljocaj (France). In 2021, she created for the Festival Quartiers Danses the pieces SCULPTER LE DEHORS and the duet RESET which received the jury prize for the best indoor choreographic work.
Véronique’s choreographic style is halfway between classical technique and the energy and momentum of contemporary dance. Her dance is influenced by the various choreographers she has worked with all around the globe. Her creative priorities are to refine movement and emphasize the moving body. Her acute sense of music and precision are two of her most defining qualities as a performer and a choreographer.
