Choreographer and Dancer
Miranda Chan is a Montreal performer and choreographer. She graduated from École de Danse Contemporaine de Montréal and had the opportunity to work with artists such as Mélanie Demers, Virginie Brunelle, Ismael Mouaraki, Peter Jasko and more. After completing her apprenticeship at the RUBBERBANDance Group, she now dances for Le fils d’Adrien. In her personal project Political Bodies, she creates stories through digital media and live performances where she reimagines our collective future with more freedom.
“My experience with cinematic choreography allows me to imagine lighting and scenery as soon as I start creating. I work with the area I want energy to flow to or travel through, and with the strong pictures I imagine in my mind. I create powerful movements while playing on groove, repetition, and synchronization. The movement is usually the end result, rather than simply a movement.”
