Choreographer
Trained at the École supérieure de ballet du Québec and later at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal, Meggie Cloutier-Hamel has been performing since 2023 for various choreographers, notably with the Grand Poney company.
An emerging choreographer, she created the solos Entre mes yeux et ma tête and Projet Pilote, presented at Danses Buissonnières in 2025.
Her work is driven by a desire to forge connections between the arts and make dance more accessible in Quebec. She is also pursuing studies in cultural production at UQAM.
My choreographic practice is rooted in a physical and engaged form of dance, influenced by theater. I create stage spaces where the body and objects interact to bring forth powerful images and unique worlds.
I advocate for accessible dance that speaks to audiences from all walks of life. Making dance available to as many people as possible, without compromising on artistic standards, is at the heart of my approach.
