Dancer and choreographer
Originally from Rimouski and now based in Montreal, Marie-Maxime graduated from the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal in 2020. During her studies, she has worked as a performer for Compagnie Destins Croisés, Morin/Leroux, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, and Marie-Ève Lafontaine, in addition to co-producing and co-directing dance videos. In 2025, during a residency in Goa, India, she created the solo “Through me I see,” which she describes as an attempt at inner harmony. In her movement, she is inspired by slowness, partner work, bodily states, and trance. She continues her artistic mission by developing tools for cultural mediation that will allow her to expand her practice through exchange with audiences.
My artistic approach is rooted in the depths of humanity, which fascinates me. Through my art, I hope to raise awareness about living better together. This all begins with my own knowledge and lived experiences. I have spent a great deal of time teaching, leading art therapy workshops, and exploring cultural mediation. This learning allows me to develop authentic and relatable physical states that resonate with everyone. It is an intuitive and sensitive approach.
