Dancer
Livona Ellis is an artist born in Vancouver, on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. A dancer with Ballet BC for 11 seasons, she has also collaborated with Bühnen Bern, Mascall Dance, and Rachel Meyer. A recognized choreographer, she creates works for numerous Canadian stages and received the Vancouver Mayor’s Arts Award for Emerging Artist in 2017. In 2023, her work Fortress, co-created with Rebecca Margolick, earned her the Louise Bentall Award for Emerging Choreographer.
