
Choreographer and dancer
Liam Francis is an award-winning choreographer and dance artist whose work spans dance, theatre, musical theatre, film, and television. He has performed with leading companies including Rambert, Lost Dog, and ZooNation, and has taken on leading roles in works by Christopher Bruce, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Merce Cunningham, Ben Duke, Sharon Eyal, Wayne McGregor, and Hofesh Shechter. Liam has presented his own choreographic work internationally in Brighton, Hannover, London, New York, Rome, Rotterdam, and Paris. He has also received commissions from companies including Rambert, Skånes Dansteater, Ballett Theater Trier, SALLY Dansgezelschap Maastricht, Salt Dance, and Shechter II.
I draw on my background in contemporary dance, ballet, and hip-hop to explore my eclectic embodied knowledge. Hybridity sits at the core of my practice and collaborations, acting as a catalyst to give form to human emotion and to explore ideas around community, identity, and liminal spaces.
