Athena Lucie Assamba is an emerging multidisciplinary dance artist, performer and choreographer. Rooted in traditional, contemporary and urban African dance, she explores spirituality and cultural heritage through her creations. A member of Afrodomtl, she participates in the development of Montreal’s dance community. Training at the Nyata Nyata Center, she delves deeper into the body-mind relationship and ancestral knowledge. With a degree in neuroscience, she explores healing through movement and art, drawing on the mysticism of African essence.
Leah Danga, a multidisciplinary artist from Montreal with Kenyan and Cameroonian roots, defines dance as her language and specializes in African street and traditional dances. Through Afrodojo, she organizes battles, workshops and cultural events to promote black arts and cultures. Between performances, conferences and community involvement, her aim is to connect, inspire and celebrate Afro-Caribbean heritage through art.
