Job offer : Administrative Assistant

The mission of the Festival Quartiers Danses (FQD) is to democratize contemporary dance in all its forms and hybridities by making it more accessible to all audiences, in theatres, in unusual places such as museums and in urban settings. The FQD offers performances by mainly local, but also national and international artists. It adopts a multidisciplinary approach to creative dance by presenting shows, performances, installations, films, exhibitions, meetings, round tables and cultural mediation workshops.

Festival Quartiers Danses is looking for a person to fill the position of Administrative Assistant. The candidate must be eligible for the Emploi-Québec wage subsidy program. You’ll have the chance to work alongside festival artists and external service providers, and to collaborate with members of the FQD team in a friendly and attentive atmosphere.

Summary of tasks

The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for supporting the administrative management of the management of the Festival Quartiers Danses, in line with the established vision, objectives and adopted by the Board of Directors and the general and artistic management.

  • Plan, draft and present grant applications to government bodies
  • Develop public and private partnerships
  • Develop and monitor internal budget
  • Review and negotiate contracts with partners
  • Manage the organization’s general accounting and financial statements in conjunction with the external accountant
  • Support the team in various organizational and festival development projects
  • Coordinate the hosting of foreign presenters during the festival
  • Support for the communications and cultural mediation department
  • All other related tasks

Skills and qualifications required

  • Training in general administration or management of cultural organizations
  • Excellent command of Word, Excel and Google tools
  • Excellent command of spoken and written French and English
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work on several files at once
  • Thoroughness, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of Sage accounting software an asset
  • Knowledge of the cultural milieu and NPO operations, an assetRequirements for employment

  • Available evenings and weekends during the festival period (September 6 to 17).
