Unlike my previous creations, the process for Fam ly has been much more methodical. I asked myself how I might take literary devices such as metaphors, juxtaposition, alliteration etc., and transfer them from the art of writing to choreography; Starting with a lexicon of movement I have kept in my back-pocket for over a year, I began to build the piece with a clear intention – weaving, best I could, the nuanced emotion I hope to get across.
