Choreographer : Wynn Holmes | Lo Fi Dance Theory

First presented in Paris at École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts as part of the event Corps et Artivisme, <101> is an ongoing performance project that explores the unifying potential of dance.

A collective gathers to examine different ideas, curriculums, and disciplines testing the boundaries of what happens when they are forced into unanticipated collisions.

Has modern city life necessitated an inner battle to define and maintain personal individuality? 101.1 further explores these ideas through group movement inspired by Lo Fi Dance Theory’s class structure. The performance questions how action, disorder, and noise contribute to the social life of the city.

This piece has benefited from a creative residency at CRCS Saint-Zothique, the Compagnie Marie Chouinard, the Conseil des Arts de Montréal and the Place des Arts.
