Choreographer : Andrea Peña | Andrea Peña & Artists

4th participation at FQD (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018)

After dancing with Ballet British Columbia and Ballets Jazz de Montréal, Andrea Peña decided in 2014 to spread her wings and create her own work. At the same time, she also studies design at Concordia University, which influences her choreographic research. Andrea, recipient of the 2017 FQD Prix du public, excels in group pieces, through which she brings out the interiority and force of her performers. Her artistic universe is one of soul and mystery… A quintet of exceptional dancers, Kairos pulls us into a voyage in search of our individuality in a homogeneous society full of social constraints. By creating a space of complementarity through kinesthetic repetition and physical synchronicity, Kairos transport us to a world of raw individuality, exploring the coruscating harmonies of solitude and community in waves of movement that mirror the bonded moments of shared or mutual consciousness.

The Man Who Travelled Nowhere In Time Chapter II | World Premiere

Choreographer : Kyra Jean Green | Trip The Light Fantastic

3rd participation at FQD (2016, 2017, 2018)

Kyra Jean Green was trained at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York. Recipient of the 2016 Quartiers Danses Festival Prix du jury, she has danced for Cas Public and Les 7 doigts de la main. Kyra subtly mixes contemporary ballet and hip hop in highly intense group pieces. Her creations alternate evenly between solo and ensemble movements. This promising choreographer proposes a piece for eight virtuosic performers, where Eytan, the hero, explores and travels through time in a perpetually changing world, without himself being affected since he lives only in the dreams and subconscious of those around him.
