For their very first collaboration, Danse à la Carte and FQD are pleased to offer, during the 24th edition of the festival, an exclusive professional workshop led by Liam Francis, an exceptional choreographer and performer from the United Kingdom..
A multidisciplinary artist with a dazzling career, he has distinguished himself through his involvement with prestigious companies such as Rambert and ZooNation, and has performed the works of dance icons (Merce Cunningham, Wayne McGregor, Sharon Eyal, Hofesh Shechter, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui). Whether leading creations, or serving as a collaborator in another artists’ work, he strives to let his passion for ‘play’ inform his contributions and decisions ; his masterclass will invite you to discover his approach, rooted in authentically expressing the hybridity of his eclectic background, at the crossroads of contemporary, ballet and hip-hop.
This workshop is offered as an echo to the presentation of Liam Francis’s work Lyre Liar, during the 24th edition of the FQD.
