1 + 1 miniatures brings together two very short solo pieces created by Lina Cruz, a Montreal-based choreographer and founder of Productions Fila 13. PORTRAIT, inspired by a poem by Hector de Saint-Denys Garneau, delicately explores the beauty and fragility of existence, in between lightness and depth. RECUL, which follows, is based on a text by Claude Gauvreau and evokes the right to be different as well as the realities of marginalization. Together, these two miniatures create a sensitive dialogue between poetry and movement, merging introspection, commitment, and the evocative power of the body.
With ELK, Sonia Gomez continues an exploration begun with the work Bailarina, centering on time, experience, and stage presence. Drawing from her 25 years of practice, the piece creates a dialogue between the dancer’s body and raw and transformed materials—clay, wool, glass, wood, or latex—to create subtle interactions between the visible and the invisible. Trained in Barcelona and Brussels, the Spanish artist has developed a performative approach that has been presented across numerous countries in Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
