Round Table | The notion of care : rethinking dance practices

7 September 202213:30Atrium | Studio-Théâtre des Grands Ballets

How can the body become a collective body, how can dance gestures become healing gestures? How could we work in a sector where professionals take care of each other?
Presented at the dawn of the 20th edition of the FQD, this discussion focuses on the possibilities linked to a practice of care in the dance world. It seeks to highlight the different dimensions of an ethic of solicitude (care) which is defined by all the gestures that maintain and contribute to the well-being and dignity of beings, while taking into account the relational and structural context.
Organized in a collaboration with Regroupement québécois de la danse (RQD), this exchange invites us to reflect on the way we take care of our bodies, of ourselves, of others, in order to co-create a society that listens to everyone’s needs.
