Description

This choreographic odyssey by Andrea Peña unfolds as an archaeological performance of movement, inspired by ancient mythological figures, digital self-portraits, and contemporary commercial reproductions.

Within the artificial and natural spheres of REPLICA, dancers Frédérique Rodier and James Phillips explore the history of the replica and question the representation of the body through time. At the heart of a scenographic garden, the stage becomes a living axis mundi, a queer Garden of Eden where gender norms blur. Between utopia and dystopia, a liminal space takes shape and unsettles the audience. The stage becomes a living canvas on which metamorphoses unfold between sculptural rigor and sensory disruption. REPLICA establishes itself as a terrain of exploration where innocence and corruption meet, revealing our fascination with the copy.

Created between Naples, Sweden, Norway, and Montreal, this duet is an immersive experience that blends beauty and raw emotion. Andrea Peña, an internationally renowned choreographer and winner of the 2026 CHANEL Next Prize, invents, with this creation, a unique, hybrid, and profoundly human choreographic language.
