During this evening at the Wilder Building, you will enjoy three performances:
Bunker + Vault explores the resilience and strength of the female body, as well as the unwavering pressure it has undergone for generations, while drawing inspiration from the choreographer’s own experience. The piece was inspired by Rebecca Margolick’s research about the young female workers who resided at the Clara de Hirsch House in New York from 1899 to 1950.
INTERMISSION
For Jane Mappin; 2022 is a reflection on a mutating world, a celebration of humankind’s strength and resilience, and an ode to the power of hope.
A man is sitting alone on a public bench. He talks to bystanders, hoping to share with them. Agitated, he offers fragments of his life, his impressions, and his obsessions. A woman is sitting next to him. A story starts taking shape, repeating itself every day on public benches: sketches of incomplete lives, and fortuitous encounters. Lewis et Lucie is a poetic evocation of marginalization, loneliness, and life’s small fractures.
