Insectoïdes | Pauline Gervais

13 September 202510:30Avenue du Musée des Beaux Arts de Montreal

Description

In Insectoïdes, the quickness of insect legs and the curiosity of antennae come to life through fluid, disjointed, and jerky movements. Each gesture becomes an artistic expression of the subtle interactions and complex relationships found in the insect world — a dive into their reflexes and inner psyche.

This duet, led by Pauline Gervais — a graduate of l’École supérieure de ballet du Québec — embodies the essence of physical exploration within singular stage worlds. Founder of Pauline Berndsen Danse in 2018, she has brought her work to festivals around the globe. Centered on the fascinating world of insects, Insectoïdes gracefully and nimbly explores their diversity and unusual forms, shedding light on their complexity, duality, and mystery. This performance reveals the delicate web of connections unique to the insect realm, celebrating our enduring fascination with this captivating world.
