Inspired by the Mandinka epic, this show by Aly Keita blends founding myth and personal narrative to explore the connections between memory, identity, and heritage. Through the figure of Soundjata Keita — a vulnerable child who became king — the artist examines how fragility can be transformed into strength. This intimate and collective journey celebrates resilience, displacement, and intimacy, paying tribute to those who doubt their place in the world, yet carry within them the power for profound transformation.
Following the performance, a cultural enrichment session will be offered in the form of a 45-minute introduction to African dance.
