Launched in 2015, the “HOMINAL/XXXX” series explores how creativity can shine through assimilation and transformation. Directed by Marie-Caroline Hominal, the series focuses mainly on the author’s role. In every episode of the series, Hominal invites an artist, director, choreographer, or visual artist to share roles, collaborate or work side by side to create a brand-new piece.
“They weave a story on a thoughtful stage. In a frail dialogue that hangs on by a thread, two women dance to appropriate cultures, computer tutorials, and patterns reproduced by machines. This piece is a textile manifesto. Two choreographers, one from South Africa and the other from Switzerland, go against each other playfully. The suits they create on stage are both funny and scary.”
