Description

Vicious Circle is a interdisciplinary work, adapted from a 50-minute show created in 1985, which was Dulcinea Langfelder’s very first one-woman show. This stage production was a true personal diary in dance, mime, theatre, music, song, and video projection. The show was applauded by audiences and praised by critics during 10 years of touring across Canada, the U.S. and Europe.

Today, with a team of daring artists, Dulcinea Langfelder wanted to revisit her very first work and breathe new life in it. On the one hand, in the resulting adaptation, the 360° dome technology offered possibilities that were unimaginable during the original creation. On the other hand, the simple plastic hoop of the past gave way to the majestic Cyr wheel, skillfully manipulated by a virtuoso circus performer, bringing a new level of performance.

Both her first and last work, Vicious Circle brings to a close the fruitful artistic career of Dulcinea Langfelder (1955-2025), whose creations have deeply resonated with a wide international audience. Using the circle, a powerful and highly symbolic object, a premise for the ever-present cycles in our lives, she explores her fears and attempts to understand the incomprehensible, her sorrows, her insecurity, her vulnerability, her curiosity, and her determination to find her place in the world. Vicious Circle is a journey through an entire life, from birth to death.
