COWARDS – Àngel Duran | 12:30 pm | Place des festivals
Description
COWARDS exposes the often toxic dialectic and captivity of masculine behavior by questioning the mandates of contemporary masculinity and how men feel challenged by other men to publicly confirm their manhood and identity. It refers to men’s inability to express their doubts or fears, to avoid confirming their fragility. It is the denial of feelings, except for rage or anger, which must be demonstrated through the exercise of violence and which is the only valid feeling.

Colony Collapse – Marisa Ricci | 12:30 pm | Place des festivals
Description
Colony Collapse is based on the Colony Collapse Disorder (CDD), an environmental crisis that occurs when the worker bees cannot feed the honeybee hive. Due to starvation of the colony and the queen, the bee population declines and since bees pollinate many plant species, this phenomenon can impact agriculture throughout the world.
Choreographed by Marisa Ricci, the piece explores the themes of nature, life in the colony, and loss. Community, motherhood, connection, delicateness, and disorder have all inspired Colony Collapse. Textured movements and distinctive aesthetics are performed with many musical genres, including classical and avant-garde.
