ON THE MOVE

An initiation to contemporary dancing through playful exercises, games and simple movements guided by a professionnal artist from the festival. The participants are invited to engage with their own bodies and experiment, all the while respecting their limits. All of our workshops can be adapted and tailored to your community’s needs.

LIL’ DANCERS

From four to eight workshops especially imagined for children between the ages of 3 and 5 in childcare centers. Exploring the theme of basic emotions, the children will experience movement, develop their coordination and work on their social skills through games and playful dance exercises.

THE UNIVERSE OF…

Discover the choreographic universe of an artist of FQD’s current program. First, the participants will connect to their bodies and enter the movement through exercises and explorations inspired by the artist’s work. Then, the group will be invited to discover the professional work of the same artist by either coming to one of their shows or through the presentation of a short film, both followed by a conversation on the work. All of our workshops can be adapted and tailored to your community’s needs.

DANCING EXHIBIT

A visit at the museum guided by movement. An artist of the festival’s program will guide the participants through a visual arts’ exhibition and invite them to explore the pieces with games and simple exercises inspired by the art. A new way to experiment Montreal’s museum, specifically the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the PHI Foundation for contemporary arts. All of our workshops can be adapted and tailored to your community’s needs.

DANCING SCREEN

A conversation guided by the cultural outreach mediator from the FQD on the short movies produced in 2019 during the 18th virtual edition. All participants are invited to watch and discuss the selected short movies, with guided questions on the choreographer’ approach in a safe and comfortable environment. All of our workshops can be adapted and tailored to your community’s needs.
