Artists and their collaborators have played a vital role throughout the pandemic: their creations offered hope, helped maintain connections, and pointed to a brighter future.

As we move forward, we need the arts more than ever—to inspire us and bring us together as we envision a better world for all. Strong support for a resilient, inclusive, and accessible arts sector benefits society in all its diversity.

The Canada Council for the Arts is a proud supporter of the Quartiers Danses Festival and its contributions to our shared work to bring the arts to life.

For 19 years, the Festival Quartiers Danses has been bringing the spirit of dance to neighbourhoods across Montréal. This inclusive, accessible festival connects artists working in different disciplines and breaks down the barriers between artistic practices in contemporary dance. Every year, the FQD invites audiences to a celebration of the body: it is a call to rejoice, to be moved, to experience new forms of dance. The Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec is proud to support this essential event for the dance community and for Québec’s cultural scene. May this year’s invitation to dance yield yet another crop of marvelous discoveries!

Enjoy the festival!

Montreal is famous for the diversity of its cultural experiences. The Festival Quartiers Danses brings together a myriad of original and exciting activities that promotes contemporary dance in all its forms and makes it more accessible to a larger public. Tourisme Montréal is proud to support the Festival and invites Montrealers, Quebecers and visitors to participate in the party! With twelve days of shows and the screening of short films, to name a few activities, this is a fun discovery opportunity while supporting local artists.
