Elon Höglund is a Swedish born Montreal-based dancer and choreographer trained in Breaking and Hip Hop. Since 2001, Elon has performed and choreographed works for Theatre, Dance and Contemporary Circus productions. In 2012, he joined forces with Emmanuelle Lê Phan to found Tentacle Tribe and presented Nobody Likes a Pixelated Squid, Fractals of you and THREESIXNINE, pieces presented in more than 45 international cities. Elon has also appeared in several films and offers internships around the world. He is a member of Montreal’s Fresh Format B-Boy crew and the Stockholm’s Concrete Kingz.
Elon will work this summer with filmmaker Stefan Verna for the co-creation of their short dance film.
My artistic process is different in each project. Sometimes I have a very clear concept and I start with writing or drawing, while other times, I start from exploring movement improvisation. My process is also inspired by listening to music or reading. One thing always present in the creation process is an essence of playfulness.
