LIEN NORD – Le making of de la vitrine émergente du FQD 2021 au Canal Lachine
A hybrid mini documentary and dance film, LIEN NORD follows Marc Béland and a group of dancers and choreographers along the Lachine Canal on a rainy day as they build a series of in situ performances. These creations will be discovered by the public during a deambulatory event as part of the Quartiers Danses Festival in September, 2021.
Biography
Filmmaker Marlene Millar has created dance-media productions since 1989. Her 30 years of practice was recently recognizing in a solo exhibition at Threshold artspace in Scotland. Marlene co-founded Mouvement Perpétuel with Philip Szporer in 2001, co-creating internationally acclaimed arts documentaries, dance-films and installations. Since 2015 Marlene has directed six films in the Migration Dance Film Project series, established with choreographer Sandy Silva, and winner of thirty international awards. Committed to supporting independent filmmaking, Marlene mentors emerging artists around the globe.
