Blue
Blue is a contemplation of forgiveness through the exploration of a personal journey. First choreographed in 1998 to Leonard Cohen’s song “Famous Blue Raincoat,” sung by Jennifer Warnes, this film is a 2021 revival of the original choreography. The piece is performed by Margie Gillis and Susan Paulson and directed by Louis-Martin Charest, with Cohen’s full support.
Biography
Following a career in classical contemporary dance at the National Ballet School of Canada and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Louis-Martin founded LIBERAMÆ Performance and Films in 2005. He tells the human story by seeking its authenticity; he collaborates with those who call to him to create dance, fiction and documentaries. In an effort to impart his knowledge to the next generation, he teaches games for dancers through improvisation
