Duet

This piece is an exploration of the dynamics of a duel or a fight. The two dancers enter into a state of confrontation, but are they fighting each other or are they united against their surroundings? Their movements, which are hard-hitting, dynamic and aggressive, nevertheless retain a sensitive quality. The staccato music underpins the combative energy. Even in the midst of rage, how can one enable sensitivity and humanity to be part of the encounter?

Biography

Lou Amsellem and Adèle Ross first met in 2016 and have shared a passion for movement ever since. Their training, which includes contemporary dance, street dance, gymnastics and martial arts, led them to develop their own gestural language through the Horizons Collective, which they founded in 2020. Together, they push the limits of their choreographic universe, in search of extremes of movement and new environments.

Artistic vision

Horizons: To be in a state of perpetual inquiry without striving to reach a precise destination. We are drawn to movement that is animalistic and instinctive, yet also sensitive and human. The presence of objects in our dance space allows us to take risks that intensify our sensations. This intensity is presently at the heart of our work and leads us to explore contrasts of movement.
