The Last Children is a sequence plan choreographic film about children in a school that is about to close. Through this choreographic fable, the film bears witness to the complete desertification of rural areas and the death of their villages. The merging of schools to consolidate isolated elementary schools into a centralized system impacted more than 400 French schools in 2019.
Biography
Fu Le is an award-winning director and choreographer who works with the French dance company Tetrapode. After graduating from the École des Arts Appliqués de Paris, he continued his training in contemporary dance in South America and Europe. Recently, he continued his research in Taiwan, questioning the social problems that result from urbanization. He now moves between dance and video, basing his cinematographic approach on the sequence plan, and explores ways of creating choreographies through the camera.
