Welcome to Festival Quartiers Danses 2026!
For nearly a quarter century, this landmark event has showcased outstanding choreographic creativity from here and around the world. Under the theme of resistance, this 24th edition reminds us of the power of dance as a force for transformation, resilience, and dialogue.
By bringing together artists from Quebec and around the world, while highlighting voices from countries including Japan and Hong Kong, the Festival fosters intercultural exchange and broadens our perspectives. Through inspiring works that explore identity, memory, and place, it invites us to reflect on who we are and the world we want to build together.
I extend my sincere thanks to everyone who, year after year, brings this Festival to life. I wish you all a Festival filled with memorable discoveries, and I invite you to embrace the movement, the emotion, and the transformative power of dance.

Art connects us—to ideas, to each other and to our shared humanity.
Its impact reaches into every community, deepening our sense of belonging, supporting local economies and enriching daily life across Canada and beyond. This is the power of a vibrant and resilient arts sector. It shapes us, the world around us and our future.
Festival Quartiers Danses brings this promise to life by connecting people with the arts and those who create them. The Canada Council for the Arts is proud to support the 24th edition of Festival Quartiers Danses and congratulates all who made it possible.

The event is a unique opportunity to highlight the talent of artists from Quebec and around the world, while fostering a collaborative approach and creating more opportunities for artists to connect with presenters and programmers from here and abroad. I also commend the Festival’s cultural outreach component, which helps advance the organizers’ goals by promoting both exchanges among artists and the sharing of expertise.
